The Accounting and Financial Reporting Specialist will apply an agile, innovative, and entrepreneurial mindset to collaborate with finance and accounting teams delivering day-to-day accounting and controllership support across enterprise solutions. The Senior will ensure that timely, accurate, and insightful financial information is provided to the appropriate business stakeholders. To accomplish this, they may also collaborate with Deloitte's Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, Global Finance Services (GFS), and other teams within and beyond the Accounting & Compliance (A&C) function<br><br><strong> Work You'll Do: <br><br></strong>As a Accounting and Financial Reporting Specialist, you will:<br><br><ul><li> Drive period, quarter, and year-end accounting processes, ensuring compliance with appropriate policy and accuracy of financial information within established deadlines. </li><li> Review and approve journal entries. </li><li> Analyze, interpret, and understand financial data to ensure reported amounts are accurate and aligned with policy, US GAAP and expectations. </li><li> Support capitalization accounting and compliance with US GAAP and firm policy; lead the quarterly review for intangible asset impairments. </li><li> Collaborate effectively with teams across Controllership and Finance & Administration to review accounting transactions. </li><li> Support in executing process improvement opportunities to improve efficiency, increase digitization utilizing technology to enhance value created, and delivered by Controllership. <br><br></li></ul>The successful candidate would possess these skills:<br><br><ul><li> Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment </li><li> Effective written and verbal communication skills </li><li> Ability to lead projects or workstreams </li><li> Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor </li><li> Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team </li><li> Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product <br><br></li></ul><strong> The Team <br><br></strong>Deloitte's Controllership function, within its Finance & Administration organization, provides stewardship over the US firms' assets by monitoring business transactions and enforcing accounting policy that results in accurate and reliable financial statements. Controllership is a dynamic, highly collaborative group focused on overseeing and supporting the financial health of the U.S. member firm and each of its functional subsidiaries.<br><br><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong> Required: <br><br></strong><ul><li> Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. </li><li> Minimum of 5 years of experience, or 2 years of accounting/auditing experience in a professional services firm. </li><li> Experience of US GAAP and methodologies for technical research </li><li> Limited immigration sponsorship may be available </li><li> Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve <br><br></li></ul><strong> Preferred Requirements: <br><br></strong><ul><li> Professional services firm experience </li><li> CPA and/or MBA </li><li> Possess data analysis skillsets and experience with the use of advanced technologies </li><li> Data analysis, management, and visualization </li><li> Advanced in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) </li><li> Proficiency in Tableau or PowerBI </li><li> Understanding and proficiency of SAP and other financial applications </li><li> Advanced understanding of data science and visualization tools (Python, SQL) </li><li> Machine learning algorithms </li><li> Artificial intelligence software <br><br></li></ul>The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $72,900 to $134,400.<br><br>You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
