AFRICA SPECIALIST / SAFARI CONSULTANT

Africa Specialist job in South Africa, fully remote, with a fast-growing luxury tour operator specialising in bespoke Southern and East Africa travel, offering an excellent base salary plus uncapped commission. This is a senior sales and itinerary design role for an experienced safari consultant, covering tailor-made luxury safaris, client relationship management and destination expertise across Southern and East Africa.

▌ The Role In this fully remote Africa Specialist role, you will be responsible for converting inbound leads into confirmed bookings and designing unique, tailor-made itineraries across Southern and East Africa — combining destination expertise, creativity and commercial drive to deliver exceptional client journeys.

– Convert inbound leads into confirmed bookings, consistently achieving strong conversion rates

– Design tailor-made itineraries across Southern and East Africa, ensuring every trip reflects the client’s interests, preferences and budget

– Build trusted client relationships through excellent communication and a premium, personal service approach

– Collaborate with trusted ground handlers to ensure all itinerary elements are executed seamlessly

– Stay current on African destinations, lodges, conservation trends and new experiences to sharpen product knowledge

– Manage your own pipeline and workload with strong organisation and follow-through

▌ Experience Required

– Minimum 5 years’ experience designing and selling luxury tailor-made safaris or African travel itineraries

– Deep destination knowledge of Southern Africa and/or East Africa — lodges, routes, seasons and on-the-ground detail

– Proven sales success with a strong lead-to-booking conversion record

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills — confident with high-value, discerning clients

– Strong organisational and time management skills — able to manage multiple itineraries simultaneously

– Self-motivated and disciplined in a fully remote working environment
