<div><h2>Overview</h2> <p>McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible diagnostic abdominal radiologist for a faculty position in the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging to join a busy clinical and academic abdominal radiology service. McGovern Medical School primarily provides imaging services at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and Harris Health LBJ Hospital. We also provide coverage at several outpatient imaging centers. The section is highly integrated with the UT departments of Oncology, Gastroenterology, Urology, Gynecology, and Trauma.</p> <h2>Position Key Accountabilities</h2> <ul> <li>Providing, reading, and interpreting diagnostic services including radiography, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, magnetic resonance, sonography, and positron emission tomography, as well as limited procedures.</li> <li>Providing excellent patient care, fostering a culture of learning and growth, and driving innovation within the section.</li> <li>Creating and implementing new or revised protocols that address identified areas for improvement and leverage new technologies; integrating fluoroscopy equipment and techniques that enhance safety and improve image quality.</li> <li>Assessing current fluoroscopy protocols for abdominal imaging procedures, considering factors like patient safety, image quality, and efficiency.</li> <li>Teaching residents, fellows, and medical students in radiology.</li> <li>Participating in consultation at the reading room and tumor board.</li> </ul> <p>The academic research opportunities at UTHealth Houston are abundant. The basic science section of the department is well-equipped (with research dedicated 3.0 and 7.0 T MR units) and well-staffed with physicists.
