This role is ideal for a dynamic business development professional who excels at building new customer relationships, shaping opportunities early, and ensuring a seamless transition from capture to program start-up.<br/><br/>The Associate Director, Sales Business Development, serves as a strategic, customer-facing account leader responsible for cultivating and managing high-value relationships with Collins Aerospace's Defense OEM customers, with a focus on Nontraditional/Emerging Primes. This role drives the overall customer strategy, acting as the primary interface between the customer and Collins Aerospace to ensure customer priorities, engagements, and initiatives are fully aligned with the company's objectives. This leader represents both the voice of the customer within Collins Aerospace and the voice of Collins to the customer. Working closely with business unit teams and key internal stakeholders, the individual ensures customer needs are understood, anticipated, and translated into tailored solutions that strengthen long-term partnerships. In addition, this role will serve as a subject matter for the pursuit to startup phase of RLPM for strategic platform level Defense OEM pursuits.<br/><br/><b>What You Will Do</b><br/><ul><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned Defense OEM key accounts, fostering strong, enduring customer relationships with Customers' working teams and Senior Management</li><li>Develop, own, and execute customer-specific business development strategies aligned with Collins Aerospace growth goals</li><li>Identify, shape, and pursue new business opportunities across Collins Aerospace's full portfolio of products and capabilities</li><li>Lead and coordinate negotiations-including contracts, pricing, and terms in close collaboration with Sales, Business Units, and cross-functional partners to achieve sustainable outcomes</li><li>Lead Collins Aerospace enterprise level meetings (cross SBU) preparation</li><li>Champion the voice of the customer internally, ensuring customer insights, requirements, and strategic direction are clearly communicated across the organization</li><li>Partner closely with business unit stakeholders to align customer requirements with product roadmaps and solution offerings</li><li>Translate Defense OEM customer needs into actionable internal requirements to support the development of customer-focused solutions</li><li>Maintain a deep understanding of customer strategies, platform plans, and market trends to proactively identify emerging needs and growth opportunities</li><li>Lead customer engagement activities such as executive meetings, strategic reviews, and long-range planning sessions</li><li>Ensure alignment between customer expectations and Collins Aerospace capabilities, managing risks and resolving issues to maintain exceptional customer satisfaction</li><li>Represent Collins Aerospace professionally at industry events, customer forums, and strategic engagements</li><li>Lead RLPM pursuit to start up activities in support of strategic platform level OEM pursuits in collaboration with SBUs and functional teams</li><li>Travel Requirements: 25-50%</li></ul><br/><br/><b>Qualifications You Must Have</b><br/><ul><li>Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience</li><li>The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required.
