Job Description: Crane Mechanical Incharge

Job Summary

Responsible for Mechanical Maintenance activities in potroom maintenance . A person having sound technical knowledge & Managerial skills, with relevant work experience in Maintenance roles in Smelter plant or Process Industry and having a strong base towards ensuring safety at the workplace.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech) from a recognized institution.

Experience

A minimum of 10-15 years of hands-on experience in PTM/ Overhead Crane Maintenance for mechanical engineering within a heavy industrial environment, with expertise in systems such as refrigerant & dessicant dryers, hydraulic & gear pumps, air compressors, EOT cranes including Pot tending machine, hydraulics, pneumatics, and furnaces.

Proven track record in managing complex mechanical systems and troubleshooting mechanical failures in a high-demand setting for Crane Mechnanical maintenance area.

KPIs

To Zero harm,Zero waste,Zero Discharge ,achieve equipment availability and critical equipments MTBF as per maintenance KPI, Zero deviation from SMP,JSA, Framing & revision of Maintenance Practices & Standards,100% Implementation of improvement projects like Kaizen.Implementation of AO methodology & VSAP standards.

No repetition of maintenance activity (Spares unavailability exceptions),100 % SAP Compliance, Team skill enhancement & productivity, Timely spares availability new & repaired meeting with quality standards.Risk mitigation & contingency plan identification & adherence.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Mech incharge Activities Designing,drafting, & Implementing best in class Maintenance practices including standard Procedures (SMP) & JSA

To achieve KPI as per target

To achieve Zero Harm,Zero Waste,Zero Discharge

Availability of all equipments to be ensured as per maintenance KPI .

All safety measures to be ensured for all jobs to be executed for Pot Room Maintenance.

Job distribution for mechanical supervisers,fitters and technicians.

Leading to Complete all activities within target duration including all emergency services owned area.

Training identification & compliance to be ensured for effective productivity.

Continous monitoring for critical equipment like PTM,Insulated cranes,Auxilliary EOT cranes,RAIL-DSL ,Trasfer gantry including raising girder,etc. & identification of risk involved if any with its mitigation plan execution within stipulated time line.

All Requirements of operations related to Maintenance of Equipments need to be executed timely.

Additional work load need to be planned in cordination with department head to meet the requirements

Spares requirements should be Maintained properly & if required to procure any nonavailable spares that should be done ASAP.

All notifications compliance to be ensured.

PM exceution of all equipments and compliance

2. Documentation and Reporting Documenting progress report and other Maintenance reports as per requirements, RCA of all major breakdowns and FMEA

3. HSE To ensure 100 % compliance in health & Safety and achieving Zero Incident

Implementation of 5S standard in the field & Ensuring zero drainage

Drive VSAP Modules & standards

4. General Responsibilities Keep workforce engaged and productive utilizing Time & resources in an effective way

Handle abnormal conditions in the field and manage crisis situation skilfully--24 X 7 on-site avaialbility during emergency call. (If in-leave on-call support 24 X7 in case of any major problem)

Rectifying the abnormality in the process activity

Technical Skills

1. General Technical Skills Knowledge in PTM cranes, dryers, pumps, compressors, Trasfer gantry & raising girder,Rail ,EOT cranes, hydraulics, pneumatics,erection,fabrication & machining processes etc.

Maintenance & Manpower Management including emergency handling skills

5S & Good Operational practices.

Ensuring Reactive,Preventive,Proactive & predictive maintenance effectively

Behavioural Skills

1. Leadership & Communication Good leadership skills

Good Communications and Interpersonal skills

Ability to drive changes and give instructions & supervise subordinates

Planning and execution of jobs within time

2. Other Behavioural Skills Team building skills

Systematic monitoring and assessment capability for any breakdowns & creating RCA with CAPA
