The health plan Data & Analytics team is looking for two (2) highly skilled and experienced Data Scientists with strong engineering expertise to support a growing portfolio of data science and analytics incentives.

Job Summary

As part of an integrated technical team, these roles will focus on analyzing and interpreting complex data, developing and deploying analytic and predictive solutions, and translating insights into action that improves outcomes for our members. Data Scientists in this role are expected to be adaptable, self‑directed, and intellectually curious, with a strong drive to use data to shape decisions and deliver measurable impact. They will take ownership of ambiguous problems, proactively explore data to uncover insights, and independently design data and analytic solutions that delivery business value.

While partnership with stakeholders across the organization is essential, success in this role requires the ability to work autonomously, ask the right questions, continuously learn new techniques, and translate analytical thinking into practical, high‑value solutions that improve outcomes for our members.

Essential Functions

  • Develop predictive models using various statistical modeling techniques to identify patterns and trends in health care utilization, costs, and outcomes.
  • Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and validate model accuracy.
  • Demonstrate ability to write and deploy production level code for a variety of strategic data science use cases.
  • Perform rapid data profiling of internal and external data sources to determine quality and value to business questions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop data-driven recommendations to optimize health plan performance.
  • Communicate findings and insights to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and data science techniques to drive innovation within the organization.
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data layers that enable advanced data analysis and support AI applications.
  • Monitor and ensure observability of automated analytic workflows, AI-driven applications, and our analytic semantic layer to maintain performance, detect issues, and facilitate troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's Degree or equivalent training in a quantitative discipline – Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Similar certified online education or work experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a related field. Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor junior team members, and develop complex data-driven solutions
  • Experience working with data cloud technologies (i.e. Snowflake)
  • Experience working with scripting languages (i.e. Python)
  • Experience working in the healthcare sector
