About the Project

The show is a video podcast (roughly 45–60 minutes per episode) with two cameras and two audio sources (both recorded separately and synced in post). The content is conversational — think long-form discussion rather than quick social clips — but each episode still needs polish: clean audio, balanced color, thoughtful pacing, and a professional final look that feels cinematic but not overproduced.

Currently, I’m doing the syncing and rough assembly myself, but I want to:

• Streamline my multicam workflow.

• Understand the right way to organize projects, media, and timelines.

• Learn how to handle adaptive audio, effects, and basic grading.

• Build a repeatable template so future episodes are faster to turn around.

If you can help me produce a few polished episodes and guide me along the way, that’s exactly what I’m after.

Your Role

1. Podcast Editing

• Create a multicam timeline from existing footage (2 video angles + 2 audio tracks).

• Sync clean audio, adjust levels, and remove background noise or mic inconsistencies.

• Cut for content flow — removing pauses, filler, or repetition while preserving conversation rhythm.

• Apply basic color correction and balance between cameras.

• Add simple graphics or overlays (e.g., intro/outro, lower thirds, occasional on-screen text).

• Export final versions for YouTube and podcast platforms (optimized for both video and audio).

2. Training & Workflow Support

• Conduct occasional live working sessions (via Zoom or recorded screen share) walking me through Resolve workflows.

• Help set up an efficient project structure — including media bins, proxies, and render settings.

• Explain tools and concepts in a practical, “teach-by-doing” way.

• Offer recommendations for improving my overall editing speed and consistency.

3. Collaboration & Communication

• Work asynchronously for editing deliverables but be available for short video calls to review progress and lessons.

• Provide clear notes and version updates.

• Be open to feedback — I’m technical and detail-oriented but respect your creative judgment.

Ideal Candidate

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have expert-level knowledge of DaVinci Resolve (Fairlight, Color, and Cut pages included).

• Are comfortable teaching others and explaining your thought process.

• Have experience editing podcasts, interviews, or YouTube content.

• Understand storytelling rhythm — how to keep conversations engaging through pacing and transitions.

• Have strong audio sensibilities (EQ, compression, noise reduction).

• Are comfortable with a few light motion graphics (titles, animated logos, etc.).

• Bonus: experience creating short-form social clips from long-form content.

What I’m Looking For in a Partner

I’m not looking for a full-blown production agency — I prefer working with an individual editor who genuinely enjoys the craft and has a teacher’s mindset.

If you’ve ever mentored junior editors, created tutorial content, or just enjoy explaining why you do what you do, we’ll probably work well together.

This is also ideal if you enjoy working with creators who are serious about improving. I’ve already done the basic editing myself — I just want to level up my workflow, polish the visuals, and get professional results without losing authenticity.

Project Scope & Schedule

• Initial engagement: 1–2 episodes to start (roughly 1 hour of footage each).

• Future potential: ongoing editing and training support (2–3 episodes/month).

• I’ll provide synced project files and all source footage via Google Drive or Frame.io.

• Turnaround time per episode: ideally within 5–7 days.

• Training sessions: 1–2 hours per week during the initial phase.
