Description

  • This position is ideal to current college students, graduate students, post docs, teachers, stay at home parents, or tutors who want extra work.
  • We are unlike other tutoring companies in that you can expect stable and substantial work. Tutors who sign with us are usually fully booked with one month.
  • We have a pay-after-results plan for families, and give families free trials. You are nevertheless paid for any and all time you spend tutoring/teaching a student.
  • Though tutors are paid a base rate for sessions their standing at QMP is determined by the results their students produce.
  • We are a premium option for families and only hire the best of the best. We are not a budget option.
  • We have a preference for at least part time tutors (~10 - 25 hours per week) but you are welcome and encouraged to work full time
  • 1099 Contractor position
  • This job is 100% remote

Expectations

  • Your will focus 90% of your instruction on the SAT
  • You are expected to teach both 1:1 and small groups
  • You must take the SAT every year you are at QMP Education
  • You are expected to be available during typical hours students are available. Students are in all standard US time zones (PST, MST, CST, and EST)

Monday - Thursday: 1PM PST - 8PM PST

Friday: 1PM PST - 6PM PST

Saturday: 5AM PST - 4PM PST

Sunday: 5AM PST - 8PM PST

  • Students are busy and you must be willing to accommodate scheduling changes and ad-hoc sessions when needed
  • In addition to tutoring sessions, you are expected to keep your student accountable to doing their homework and studying outside of class by communicating with them regularly via text. You are also expected to give a weekly parent update
  • You will be given guidance and our pedagogical philosophy but you have the freedom and flexibility to get the student the results they want in whatever way you deem necessary. That also means once the student is handed off to you, you are responsible for them.
  • Uniform: suit/formal business attire preferred, polo shirt at an absolute minimum. QMP models professionalism in all respects
  • Video: your face must be well lit and visible
  • Background: your background must be professional and undistracting
  • Internet: fast and stable internet is absolutely crucial to ensure minimum friction during tutoring sessions and a positive experience
  • Part of our programming is we give them text and email support after sessions with a 6 hour response time in case they have questions or confusion as they are doing the homework.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
