Job Summary

The Elite Job is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Remote Medical Transcriptionist to join our healthcare documentation team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports, patient histories, and other healthcare-related documentation from audio recordings provided by physicians and healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities

  • Listen to voice recordings of medical reports and transcribe them accurately into written documents.
  • Edit and proofread medical transcription for errors, ensuring high quality and adherence to medical standards.
  • Format documents according to the requirements of healthcare providers and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
  • Communicate with physicians and healthcare professionals to clarify unclear dictations as needed.
  • Maintain organized digital files and document management systems.
  • Meet daily and weekly transcription targets while maintaining accuracy.
  • Stay updated with medical terminology, procedures, and technology relevant to transcription.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or in a similar healthcare documentation role.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
  • Proficient typing skills with high accuracy and speed (minimum 60 WPM).
  • Ability to use transcription software and tools efficiently.
  • Exceptional listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality laws (e.g., HIPAA).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in medical transcription is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in medical transcription or healthcare documentation.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is a plus.
