Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking highly skilled, detail-oriented remote translators to join our team. As a Remote Translator, you will be responsible for translating written materials across a variety of industries and subjects. This flexible work-from-home opportunity allows you to apply your linguistic expertise to accurately convey messages while maintaining the context, tone, and intent of the original text. You will have the chance to work in multiple languages and gain exposure to a variety of translation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate a wide range of documents, including but not limited to marketing materials, contracts, technical manuals, medical documents, and educational resources.
  • Ensure the translated material maintains the original meaning, style, and context.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality translations.
  • Edit and proofread your translations to ensure accuracy and fluency.
  • Research specialized terminology and ensure correct usage.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive documents.
  • Manage multiple translation projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in at least two languages (both written and spoken), with native or near-native fluency in the target language.
  • Strong knowledge of grammar, syntax, and cultural nuances in both source and target languages.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with translation software (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, or other CAT tools) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of professional translation experience.
