You will lead the congregation in worship, collaborate with other worship team members, and coordinate musical events. Responsibilities: Provide leadership, vision, and passion in the area of music worship ministry that is in line with the overall vision and mission of ZUMC. Take the lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities which align with the mission and vision of ZUMC. Coordinate with the pastors and ministry leaders to create well-planned and engaging Sunday worship services. This includes leading the Sunday worship service and overseeing the worship team (vocalists and instrumentalists). Responsibilities include preparation for and leading rehearsals, as well as consulting with the Pastor of Worship and/or Senior Pastor to coordinate music for the Sunday service. Discern songs, hymns, praise sets and instrumental selections to inspire the congregation?s worship of God. Administer an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church. Attend weekly worship planning and staff meetings. If not available, coordinate a time for a weekly meeting with the Pastor of Worship and/or Senior Pastor. Assist in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services. Skills and Qualifications: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a worship leadership role A deep understanding of the theology of worship and the ability to incorporate it in leading and teaching of worship to team and congregation. Strong vocal and musical skills, including proficiency on piano and/or guitar, the ability to read band charts, experience with (or desire/aptitude to learn) Planning Center Online, experience with (or desire/aptitude to learn) Multi-Tracks band integration. Excellent communication skills, both verbally from the stage as well as in written email formats. Respect for all styles and genres of worship music; ability to blend new and old styles. Commitment to ongoing personal, spiritual, and professional growth. Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading worship. Ability to train and nurture other musicians.
