Job Title : Retail Sales Officer (RSO) – Tanishq Franchise Store

Location : Deoghar

Salary / Compensation

CTC: ₹13,000 – ₹18,000 per month (depending on experience)

  • Incentives ( Company Incentive & Franchisee Incentive ) on Target Achievements

Reporting To : Store Manager

Job Summary

The Retail Sales Officer will be responsible for delivering excellent service at the store counter, driving sales, assisting in marketing activities, and ensuring the store meets its sales and customer satisfaction targets. Candidate will handle counter transactions, suggestive selling, customer follow-ups, merchandising, and support in promotional campaigns.

Key Responsibilities Area Tasks / Duties

Counter Sales

  • Greet customers warmly as they arrive at the counter.

  • Understand customer needs and preferences; offer product knowledge & recommendations.

  • Suggest up-selling and cross-selling products, add-ons.
    • Process sales transactions accurately (cash, card, etc.).

  • Assist with handling returns, exchanges in adherence with store policy.

Customer Relationship & Service

  • Build rapport with customers; follow up on non-purchasers.

  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, ensuring swift resolution.

  • Maintain product knowledge (materials, designs, prices, care) to guide customers well.

Marketing & Promotional Support

  • Assist in implementing in-store promotions, visual merchandising, product displays.

  • Help organize and execute marketing campaigns / events / tie-ups as directed.

  • Use social media / local outreach (if required) to drive store footfall.

  • Collect customer feedback and market / competition insights for the Manager.

Inventory & Store Upkeep

  • Keep counter area, display cases clean, organized, and appealing.

  • Restock products, maintain back-stock; inform manager of low stock.

  • Assist in stock counting / tallying / taking inventory.

  • Ensure all products are correctly priced / tagged.

Sales Targets & Reporting

  • Meet/aim to exceed daily / weekly / monthly sales targets.

  • Track personal sales performance; report to Store Manager.

  • Contribute to overall store revenue goals.

Required Qualification & Experience

  • Must have passed 12th grade (Senior Secondary).
  • Minimum 6 months' experience in retail sales, ideally in jewellery / luxury goods / fashion accessories, or similar.
  • Basic ability to use Point-of-Sale (POS) systems / billing machines / cash handling.
  • Good communication skills (Hindi / English / local language).

Skills & Abilities

  • Customer-centric attitude; friendly, patient, good listener.
  • Sales drive: persuasive yet honest; ability to suggest add-ons and close sales.
  • Good presentation / grooming; ability to maintain an appealing counter / display.
  • Basic computer savviness (POS, basic billing, perhaps WhatsApp / social media for store promotions).
  • Team player & flexible with work hours (weekends / holidays).
  • Regular attendance, punctual; reliability.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Individual sales: amount / number of units sold per period.
  • Conversion rate (walk-in customers → purchases).
  • Average transaction value.
  • Customer satisfaction / feedback (store reviews / direct feedback).
  • Contribution to promotions / marketing activities (e.g. increase in footfall or enquiries).
  • Stock / display maintenance / accuracy of inventory.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time role in store environment.
  • Flexible hours including weekends and holidays as per store operations.
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Handling of jewellery items; secure handling, care.
