POSITION DESCRIPTION WSP is currently seeking a Senior Engineer – Rail Modelling & Simulation to join our Rail and Transit Division in Bangalore or Noida, with 8+ years of experience in railway operational modelling, simulation and system performance analysis across Metro, LRT, and mainline rail projects. RESPONSIBILITIES — Perform Rail operational modelling and analysis for rail projects for a diverse range of clients, at various phases of railway infrastructure lifecycle, from planning through to ongoing operations and maintenance. — Contribute to the development of Operating and Maintenance Agreements for rail projects. — Perform operations simulation, interpret outputs, and present results of various rail operations Lead/undertake various rail operation tasks such as rail network planning and capacity studies. — Undertake yard operations analysis and provide input to yard and maintenance facility designs. — Validate system design requirements related to O&M; through analysis, stakeholder engagement, and reference to industry best practices. — Contribute to the development of plans related to the operation of a railway and/or transit system, including Operations Plans, Concept of Operations, Concept of Maintenance, O&M; Specifications and other related documentation. — Foster collaboration across WSP within India and globally. — Train and mentor junior staff. — Other duties as assigned/required. MANDATORY SKILLS — Proficiency in OpenTrack, RTC, RailSys, or similarly capable tools. — Proven experience in the rail and transit sector, including local rail transportation such as tramways, light rail, rapid transit, mixed-traffic, metro and freight. — Experience in Canadian rail standards, North American rolling stock, and freight/passenger operations would be an asset. — Familiarity with signalling systems (CBTC, ETCS, PTC) and OCC operations. — Exposure to international delivery models and remote collaboration. — Programming/scripting skills (Python, VBA) are a plus. — Solid communication and documentation skills. QUALIFICATIONS — Engineering Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution. — Professional qualification, or eligibility to be registered as such.
