<p>We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead our transition from outsourced database management to an in-house model. This role is critical in stabilizing our legacy Oracle environments while driving our modernization strategy across our multi-cloud footprint. A major focus of this role will be spearheading the architectural shift of our database workloads from Oracle to PostgreSQL. You will serve as the technical lead for critical business systems, architect scalable, cost-effective database solutions, and help us modernize our technology stack.</p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Database Modernization & Migration:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;"> Architect, plan, and execute the complex migration of legacy Oracle workloads to PostgreSQL. Serve as the in-house Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PostgreSQL design, implementation, and administration.</span></p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Multi-Cloud Infrastructure:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;"> Lead the strategy and execution of migrating and managing database workloads in managed cloud services across our multi-cloud environment (heavy emphasis on AWS and GCP, with minor support in Azure).</span></p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Performance Tuning & Optimization:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;"> Analyze complex queries, optimize database server settings across both Oracle and PostgreSQL platforms, and leverage enterprise performance monitoring tools to proactively tune systems.</span></p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Compliance, Security, & Licensing:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;"> Ensure databases comply with strict SOX guidelines. Implement encryption, access controls, and oversee quarterly account reviews. Maintain a general awareness of Oracle licensing and compliance to mitigate financial risks during the transition period.</span></p>

<p><strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Capacity Planning & DR:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;"> Determine and implement robust backup and recovery strategies (RTO/RPO), test automated failover procedures, and automate backup tasks using native cloud tooling.</span></p>

<li style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;">High-Level Support:</span></strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;"> Provide expert, Level III escalation support for critical production incidents, including after-hours integration support and on-call rotations.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Extensive experience in Oracle Database Administration (11g/12c/19c) across heterogeneous environments (Linux and Windows).</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">High proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration, including hands-on experience migrating enterprise-scale workloads from Oracle to PostgreSQL.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Proven track record of managing databases in multi-cloud environments (strong proficiency in AWS and GCP is required; experience with Azure is a plus).</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Knowledge of or experience managing Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) environments is a strong plus.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">General understanding of Oracle License Management Services (LMS) and compliance strategies.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Experience with enterprise automated job scheduling and database performance monitoring platforms.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;">
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Deep knowledge of database design, logical data models, and data normalization.</span></p>

<p><strong><span style="box-sizing: border-box; text-decoration: underline;">Compensation</span></strong>: This position offers a base salary of $106,250 - $125,000 CAD. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a<strong> </strong>performance based annual bonus.</p>
