Team members enjoy opportunities for professional growth, exposure to both technical and operational accounting, and a culture that values accuracy, accountability, and partnership with hospital leadership.</p><p> </p><p><strong>How you’ll contribute</strong></p><p style="margin-left: 0in;">A Senior Staff Accountant who excels in this role:</p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Owns the journal entry preparation and month-end close process for approximately two assigned hospital facilities.</li><li>Partners closely with Site Liaisons and facility finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.</li><li>Prepares, reviews, and posts journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortizations, and recurring monthly entries.</li><li>Supports a fast-paced month-end close environment, ensuring critical deadlines are met within established close timelines.</li><li>Performs balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and variance research to resolve outstanding issues.</li><li>Analyzes financial activity and investigates discrepancies using Oracle reporting tools and other financial systems.</li><li>Collaborates with accounting leadership, technical accounting, and operational finance teams to resolve accounting questions and support financial accuracy.</li><li>Utilizes Excel extensively, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis tools, to support accounting processes and reporting.</li><li>Identifies opportunities for automation, standardization, and continuous process improvement as Lifepoint continues to enhance and centralize accounting operations.</li><li><p>Provides support and knowledge sharing across the team, contributing to a highly collaborative work environment.</p><p> </p></li></ul><p><strong>What we’re looking for</strong></p><p>Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Additional qualifications include:</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><strong>Required</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">5+ years<strong> </strong>of progressive experience in accounting.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Experience preparing and posting journal entries in a month-end close environment.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization schedules, and account reconciliations.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting strict monthly close deadlines.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial data analysis.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p style="margin: 0in;"><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Healthcare or hospital accounting experience.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Oracle ERP or Oracle Cloud experience.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Experience supporting multiple entities, facilities, or business units.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">CPA designation or CPA-track candidate.</p></li><li><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Experience participating in accounting process improvement or automation initiatives.</p></li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Salary Range: </strong>$66,476 - $89,742 per year.</p><p><strong>Schedule:</strong> Full-time (During the monthly close cycle, team members support an accelerated close process, with heavier workloads occurring during the first 8-10 business days of each month.
