With expertise in separation and purification technologies and versatile, intelligent workflow solutions, we help optimize processes for more than 5,000 customers worldwide.<br><br><strong>Our mission is clear: to empower scientists to simplify and accelerate discovery and development. </strong></span><br><span>We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to sell core chemistry consumables (SPE, SLE, PPT, etc.) and systems for the Life Science field in CRO, Pharmaceutical, Clinical, Forensics, Academic, Government and related accounts.</span><br><br><span><strong>Remote: Based in the Los Angeles/Bay Area. </strong></span><br><br><span><strong>Tasks and Responsibilities:</strong></span><br></p><ul><li><p><span>Achieve defined monthly, quarterly, and annual targets for revenue, profitability for the territory and specific product volumes.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Discover and characterize the problems and/or unmet needs of prospective and current customers in order to effectively develop appropriate winning solutions (ensuring customer success)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Expand customer knowledge of Biotage products and their benefits via sales calls, seminars, and hands on demonstration</span></p></li><li><p><span>Identify and developing new customers relationships (add new customer accounts and expand current customer relationships)</span></p></li><li><p><span>First line of support to customers with hands-on development and troubleshooting of SPE Sample Prep Methods at customer’s sites.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Train customers on most successful ways to achieve maximum value from Biotage products.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate with Biotage Applications Scientist in the development of advanced or challenging SPE Sample Prep Methods</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collect and provide feedback from customers on experiences and success level with Biotage products.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Demonstrate Biotage equipment either at customer site or via virtual call in order to facilitate sale of product(s).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Communicate regularly with the Inside Sales group to leverage opportunities.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Provide on time and accurate sales forecasts.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Timely follow up and qualification of leads and document results in CRM platform.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Accurate and up to date documentation of sales activities and opportunity status in CRM platform.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Represent the company at conferences as needed.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Generate quotes and negotiate pricing within authorized limits.</span></p></li></ul><p><br><span><strong>Skill Requirements/Education/Experience Required:</strong></span><br></p><ul><li><p><span>Excellent verbal, written, active listening, negotiation, and persuasion communication skills</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to manage time effectively, be a self-starter, be creative, and have strong organizational skills</span></p></li><li><p><span>Able to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment with shifting priorities</span></p></li><li><p><span>Demonstrated success dealing with the complex pricing issues involved in government and other granting agencies is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proficient computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and CRM software (</span><a target="_blank" href="http://Salesforce.com"><span>Salesforce.com</span></a><span>)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to work within a team</span></p></li><li><p><span>Bachelor’s degree in science related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience working in a chemistry laboratory environment with Biotage or related workflow tools is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proven track record of success in sales and account management is highly desirable.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience selling scientific equipment is a plus.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills</span></p></li></ul><div><p><strong>Travel Required:</strong></p></div><ul><li><p><span>50-60% travel for first year; 40-50% once established with core customers throughout territory.</span></p></li><li><p><span>3-5 (average of 3.5) days per week in the field directly interfacing with prospects and customers.</span></p></li><li><p><span>1-2 overnights per week (varies depending upon home base of employee)</span></p></li></ul>
