We're seeking a talented WordPress Developer for a contract-based remote position who specializes in creating beautiful, custom websites from scratch. If you're passionate about crafting exceptional user experiences and building bespoke WordPress solutions without relying on templates, we want to hear from you.

Position Details

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop custom WordPress websites with a strong focus on UI/UX principles
  • Build high-performance eCommerce sites using WooCommerce or similar platforms
  • Create pixel-perfect, responsive designs that work seamlessly across all devices
  • Develop custom themes and plugins tailored to specific project requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into elegant technical solutions
  • Optimize websites for speed, performance, and SEO
  • Maintain and enhance existing WordPress sites with custom functionality
  • Ensure websites are secure, scalable, and maintainable

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ WordPress websites built from scratch (custom development, no templates)
  • Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL
  • Deep understanding of UI/UX principles and user-centered design
  • Experience building and customizing eCommerce solutions (WooCommerce preferred)
  • Solid knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development
  • Understanding of WordPress best practices, coding standards, and security
  • Experience with custom theme and plugin development
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Portfolio demonstrating custom WordPress projects
  • Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Figma for design and prototyping
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks and build tools
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git)
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Experience with performance optimization and caching strategies
  • Previous remote work experience
