Description:

  • Directly Observes nursing care provided by an R.N. partner. Performs assigned patient care based on validated skills achieved in clinical/lab courses within his/her school of nursing. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital.

    Current CNA license with the State of Maryland (Required)

    CPR for Healthcare Providers prior to start of externship

    Current enrollment in a School of Nursing and entering last year of program

    Maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA cumulative

    Completion of at least one Medical/Surgical clinical rotation (Required)

    Reads, writes, speaks, and comprehends the English language

Collects and labels specimens

Maintains effectiveness and efficiency of medical/surgical supplies and equipment

Performs non-complex diagnostic tests under RN supervision

Cleans and maintains all equipment used during patient care

Performs post-mortem care according to HCH policy & procedure

Cleans, organizes and ensures safety of the clinical environment

Maintains supplies and other hospital resources.

Provides services to enhance patient comfort, support and safety

Performs simple therapeutic tasks

Performs, under RN supervision, all patient care and related activities in a safe and timely manner according to HCH standards

Reports all pertinent patient care information to appropriate multi-disciplinary care team

Documents appropriate information in patient medical record as necessary

Answers telephone and patient call lights

Observes RN partner in his/her daily interactions.

Pay Range-$14.68-$20.55

  • Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
