<p><strong>Business Development Analyst in St. Louis, MO</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Position Description</strong></p><p>The Analyst will serve as an active member of the business development team, supporting thematic sourcing efforts, managing target research, and contributing across the full origination process. Responsibilities include leading discovery calls with bankers, brokers, and business owners to originate actionable investment opportunities aligned with Compass Group’s investment theses. Ideal candidates will be intellectually curious, relationship-oriented, and demonstrate a strong work ethic and high level of maturity. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Development.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p>•      <strong>Intermediary Coverage & Relationship Development: </strong>Identify and prioritize intermediaries aligned with investment theses and core sub-sectors; lead discovery calls to build relationships and originate actionable opportunities; and track intermediary activity to support sourcing strategy and coverage efforts</p><p>•      <strong>Target Research & Proprietary Outreach: </strong>Build and manage target lists across prioritized investment theses; conduct strategic target research and market analysis for potential platform and add-on acquisitions; and assist in direct outreach efforts to founders and business owners to generate qualified opportunities</p><p>•      <strong>BD Operations & Strategy: </strong>Track sourcing KPIs, including pipeline activity, outreach performance, and conversion rates; maintain CRM data integrity and support consistent reporting across key sourcing and operational metrics</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p>•      Consistent track record of high achievement, both professionally and academically (BS/BA required; preferably in finance or business)</p><p>•      Prior experience in PE, IB, or business development is preferred but not required</p><p>•      Experience with data analysis and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms</p><p>•      Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal</p><p>•      Demonstrated track record of accountability and success</p><p>•      Strong attention to detail, responsiveness, and a proactive mindset</p><p>•      Entrepreneurial-minded and results-oriented with a strong ability to work independently and manage competing priorities</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Compass Group Equity Partners</strong></p><p>Compass Group Equity Partners is a St. Louis-based private equity firm with a record of success in partnering with and building lower middle-market companies.
