Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Freight Agent role based in Stockton, CA.

The Freight

Agent will be responsible for managing freight movement by coordinating with shippers, carriers, and customers to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Daily tasks include negotiating rates, booking shipments, managing transportation schedules, tracking shipments, and resolving any logistical challenges. The role will also involve maintaining strong relationships with clients, carriers, and team members to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of logistics, freight brokerage, and transportation management systems
  • Experience in rate negotiation, shipment booking, and scheduling
  • Ability to track shipments, manage carrier relationships, and resolve logistical issues
  • Proficient in communication, client relations, and problem-solving
  • Proficiency in using freight management software and other industry-relevant tools
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus
  • Previous experience in a freight brokerage or logistics environment preferred
