Position Overview

Passive House Canada is seeking an Education & Training Specialist to support the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of our training and educational programs.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is well-suited to a self-directed and resourceful learning professional who enjoys building and improving programs in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping high-quality learning experiences while managing the day-to-day execution of PHC’s education offerings.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of program delivery and contribute to the evolution of PHC’s education portfolio over time. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working across a range of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Learning Support
  • Support the ongoing improvement of curriculum by incorporating feedback, data, and emerging best practices.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate technical content into accessible and engaging learning experiences.
  • Assist in defining and refining learning objectives and participant outcomes.
  • Update and maintain training materials and learning resources to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Identify gaps and support curriculum updates as needed, balancing both strategic improvements and day-to-day content maintenance.
  • As the program evolves, there may be opportunities to take on greater responsibility in learning design and content development.
Program Delivery & Coordination
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of training programs, ensuring a smooth and consistent learner experience.
  • Schedule courses, coordinate instructors, and manage participant communications.
  • Conduct quality checks and test runs of course materials and LMS setup prior to delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and tools to support more efficient program delivery.
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
  • Manage PHC’s LMS, including course setup, scheduling, registration, and completion tracking.
  • Provide user support to learners and instructors, troubleshooting issues and escalating as needed.
  • Maintain accurate course and participant records.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
  • Collect and analyze participant feedback, attendance data, and course performance metrics.
  • Support the development of evaluation tools to assess learning effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to improve course content, delivery, and learner experience.
Research & Program Support
  • Conduct research to support the development of new or updated training offerings.
  • Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to enhance PHC’s education programs.
  • Assist in gathering input from members, instructors, and stakeholders to inform program improvements.
Stakeholder & Learner Support
  • Act as a key point of contact for learners and instructors regarding training programs.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide timely support to ensure a positive learning experience.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with instructors and contributors.
  • Collaborate across internal teams (e.g., education, communications, operations) to support program delivery and promotion.
Operations & Logistics
  • Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including virtual setup, materials, and scheduling.
  • Maintain instructor records and support administrative processes such as contracts, invoicing, and expense tracking.
  • Support the promotion of training programs in collaboration with the communications team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or a related field.
